Vandoren SM824E V16 T8 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece | Ebonite

Vandoren SM824E V16 T8 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece | Ebonite

The Vandoren V16 T8 is an ebonite tenor saxophone mouthpiece inspired by the sound of the great jazz players from the 1950s to the present day. Made in France by one of the most respected names in saxophone accessories, it delivers a warm, vintage-inspired tone with excellent response and projection, making it a favourite of jazz saxophonists at every level.

The T8 has a 2.80 mm tip opening with a long facing, which Vandoren describes as the most popular tip opening for the tenor saxophone. It offers an excellent balance between ease of playing and a rich, full sound. Its medium chamber, the original V16 standard chamber, produces a powerful, round and versatile tone that works well in both solo and section playing. A rollover baffle helps give the sound its focus and projection.

Each mouthpiece is CNC-machined and hand-finished in France, ensuring consistent quality and precise facing. Vandoren recommends medium-strength reeds, typically 2.5 to 3.5, for this tip opening.
