The album was first released in 1992 via Death Row Records and was not available for sale or streaming for decades, except for a brief period from April 2020 to March 2022, due to a legal dispute.  This album contains 16 tracks and represents a pivotal point in rap history. "The Chronic" was, in fact, the entry point to Dr. Dre's solo career after his break with the group N.W.A. and addresses the beef with Eazy-E, the gangsta lifestyle in LA, Death Row's mafia-film-like rise, as well as racial conflicts and political unrest. It also served as a springboard for Snoop Dogg's career.

Without a doubt, few songs in 2021 were as eagerly anticipated as "Easy On Me", the new single from Adele. After just a few hours, the video for the piano ballad had been viewed by around 15 million people on YouTube alone - and the trend is still rising, of course.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the band's eighth album, was released on June 1, 1967 and became the soundtrack of the "Summer of Love," but its appeal is timeless.  Work on the recording had begun in late 1966, and at one point it was thought that both Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever would be included, but when they were released as singles in February, that idea was abandoned.  Revolver had been finished just in time before the band left for another tour. Now that the tour was behind them, more time could be spent writing and recording. Between November 1966 and April 1967, they spent over 400 hours in the studio - a big difference from the Please Please Me days.

Together with the Sex Pistols, The Clash were the first punk rockers in England. Unlike the Sex Pistols, they mixed their sound with reggae and disco sounds. The bandleader duo Joe Strummer and Mick Jones composed most of the formation's hits. With their eponymous debut in 1978, Van Halen simultaneously rewrote the rules of rock guitar and hard rock in general. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen redefined the possibilities of the electric guitar, developing a lightning-fast technique with a variety of self-taught two-handed tapping, hammer-ons, pull-offs and effects that imitated machine and animal sounds. She was wildly inventive and outstanding, surpassed only by singer David Lee Roth, who brought the metal singer's role to near performing arts standards. Unlike Eddie, Roth wasn't blessed with great technique, but he had a flair for showmanship that also came from lounge performers like Robert Plant. Together they made Van Halen the most popular American rock and roll band of the late 70s and early 80s, setting the template for hard rock and heavy metal of the 80s.
