"It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" was like a hip-hop apocalypse, with Public Enemy releasing arguably the best hip-hop album of all time. Importantly, it was an undeniably powerful statement, a manifesto for the rebirth of a mass movement for African American liberation: Black Power for a new generation. His musical impact was transformative; numerous other rap acts followed the example of The Bomb Squad, PE's brilliant producers. The sheer amount of sound they've put on plastic here is incredible. 

For many fans and critics, this is the greatest hip hop album of all time. These things are always subjective, but once you're immersed in its world, it's impossible to argue that It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back doesn't deserve to be there.
