Mackie Onyx16 | 16 Channel Premium Analog USB Mixer Specifications  

            The Mackie Onyx16 is a high-quality 16-channel USB mixer optimized for professional recording, production and live audio. It features an advanced 3-band "British Style" EQ based on the same circuitry used in classic mixing consoles from the 60s and 70s. This Mackie designed version has better filter control, the smallest phase shift and you can define specific frequency ranges. To create the Perkins EQ, Cal Perkins started with a Wien Bridge circuit topology inspired by the sacred "British" desks of the 60s and 70s. 

This design essentially trades the boost/cut capability for a wider, highly musical Q filter. After some exciting math, Cal was able to determine the values of capacitors and resistors that would give the EQ an additional 6dB of control (15dB) without reducing the filters Q or bandwidth too much.
